PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device capable of preventing deterioration in driving efficiency and image brightness, and malfunction. SOLUTION: The plasma display device comprises a plasma panel 100 for image display and a filter 110 installed at the front of the plasma display panel 100. The plasma display panel 100 comprises a front substrate in which a first electrode and a second electrode are formed side by side, a rear substrate in which a third electrode is formed intersecting with the first and second electrodes and a wall partitioning a discharge cell between the front and rear substrates. The discharge cell is filled with discharged gas with xenon (Xe) sharing 10% or more of the total discharged gas, the rear substrate is not provided with an exhaust unit (Unit), and the filter 110 is provided with a near-infrared screening layer capable of absorbing or reflecting near ultraviolet rays.
