The present invention relates to a structure of a front side member arranged on the left and right side of an engine room in accordance with the longitudinal direction of a vehicle body, comprising: an outer panel formed in a pipe shape with an empty inner space; and a container unit having a closed inner space and inserted into the outer panel, wherein an inlet hole and an outlet hole penetrating the outer panel and the container unit are perforated, formed with a predetermined space to each other, and provided to store a predetermined amount of fluid in the container unit. Moreover, the present invention provides additionally a method for manufacturing the front side member. According to the present invention, the method for manufacturing a front side member comprises the steps of: coating foam on the outer surface of the container unit made of reinforced plastic; coupling an inner unit constituting a part of the outer panel to the surface of the container unit coated with the foam; and coupling the outer unit constituting a rest part of the outer panel to the surface of the container unit coated with the foam. Both ends partitioned in the longitudinal direction of the outer panel constitute the inner unit and the outer unit. The gap between the container unit and the outer panel is filled as the inner unit and the outer unit are coupled to the container unit, and the foam then expands. |
