SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method of running of internal combustion engine which includes cold and hot running-in, checking, testing and diagnosing, cold and hot running-in are carried out adaptively using as parameters temperature, torque, and crankshaft rpm, with parameters being in functional relationship with each other and being changed according to equations T = t01,5 M = t02,5b t1= t2= t3 W = t03,5c where T is engine temperature; M is torque; W is crankshaft rpm; a, b, c are process intensity factors, and t1,t2,t3 are conventional values of duration of running-in. End of running-in and beginning of diagnosing is the moment of stabilization of parameters of temperature, torque and crankshaft rpm to be used as diagnostic characteristics. EFFECT: improved quality of running-in, enhanced reliability and capacity and reduced time taken running-in owing to use of adaptive control of running-in conditions. 3 dwg
