METHOD AND HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FOR MINING OPERATION

A method of advancing an underground mining operation to an advanced location is provided. The electric shuttle car (18) is located in the advanced location and the electrical cable (24) of the shuttle car (18) is disconnected from the power distribution control box (22). The distribution control box (22) is moved to the advanced location and the hydraulic system of an ancillary vehicle is connected to a hydraulic circuit (100) that is connected to the hydraulic motor of the cable reel (26). The hydraulic system of the ancillary vehicle is operated to power the motor of the cable reel (26) and thereby spool the electrical cable (24) onto the cable reel (26). The electrical cable (24) is reconnected to the power distribution control box (22) and the ancillary vehicle is disconnected from the shuttle car (18).
