<p>Benzodiazepines Cpds. have gen. formula (I): (where R1 is halogen or NO2; R2 is phenyl, halophenyl or pyridyl; R3 is H, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, acyloxyalkyl, haloalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, dialkylaminoalkyl or carbalkoxy; R4 is alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylaminoalkoxy, dialkylaminoalkoxy, hydroxyalkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl or alkylsulphonyl; R5 is H or OH and R6 is H or carbalkoxy and when R5 is H the N atom in the 4-posn. may carry an O atom). Cpds are useful anticonvulsants muscle relaxing agents, sedatives and anxiolytics. Claim (I) covers many more similar cpds.</p> |
