The method involves using signalling stations (1,21), transmitting status information (19) to personnel working areas. At least two stations in a chain along track sections transmit a track address (13,43), corresponding to its location, and associated with a warning information (11,42). Transmission range of all stations overlaps. Warning stations (3) are allocated a line address (33) corresponding to the track address. The warning stations evaluate all information, and identify their own warning information, when a track address is the same as a line address, and the associated sector identification is received with maximum intensity (47) during a time period, which is sufficient to receive neighbouring transmitter stations.
