PURPOSE: An apparatus for increasing efficiency of a client-server network, and a method thereof are provided so that a bottleneck phenomenon can be reduced by adding a network cache, and storing frequently-used data in the network cache. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(190) controls a network cache(210) to store data frequently used by a plurality of clients and a server, and to process the data according to a data request signal. The network cache(210) stores the frequently-used data under the control of the control unit(190). A hard disc or memory of a switching hub is added to the network cache(210) to improve network efficiency. The first to fourth clients and the server output a packet for storing the frequently-used data. The control unit(190) stores the data in the network cache(210) according to the packet of the first to fourth clients and server. The first to fourth medium access control units(150-180) detect the data request signal, and output a destination address. The control unit(190) stores the data request signal in a memory(200). In addition, the control unit(190) confirms whether the data request signal is equivalent to the data stored in the network cache(210). If so, the control unit(190) transmits a command packet to the server. The server outputs a signal of using the data stored in the network cache(210) according to the command packet from the control unit(190). The control unit(190) outputs the data to the first to fourth clients.
