摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fuel consumption and responsiveness to acceleration by moving the threshold of engine start to high-speed side according to the estimation result of traveling state to continue the motor traveling. SOLUTION: A traveling state detecting means 24 is connected to a vehicle controller 13. A navigation device 21 is formed of a locater for measuring the position of its own vehicle, a road information receiver for receiving traffic information and road information, and a road map data. The part for judging the traveling state of the vehicle controller 13 receives the output of the navigation device 21 and detects a curve on the course of the own vehicle. The part for judging engine start and stop of the vehicle controller 13 determines the thresholds of engine start and stop according to the judgment of traveling state. The vehicle controller 13 performs the control of a hybrid vehicle according to the judgment result of engine start and stop. According to this, energy loss can be eliminated, and the acceleration responsiveness in re-acceleration can be improved.</p>
