<p>An ancillary hydraulic circuit (18) is described involving a supplementary oil piston (20) and a variable volume reservoir (35) complete with a pump (42) and pressure (44) and flow (37) regulators and which by a single hose coupling (29) to a conventional pumped hydraulic circuit (1-17) serving a reciprocating screw injection moulding machine (2) can adapt the cycle pressure/time characteristics as required between sustained pressure moulding of prods. requiring high dimensional precision to rapid cycle moulding of less critical forms. Allows one moulding machine to have the cycle capabilities of either a pumped circuit machine or an accumulator (hydraulic) driven machine, i.e. by overcoming the high intensity oil transfer rate limitations of the pump machine and the limited range of injection cycle characteristics typical of an accumulator powered screw traverse.</p> |
