<p>PURPOSE:To perform purification, by contacting river water with an apparatus consisting of a weir body and a porous ceramics granular material, obtained by baking a composition based on clay having a void forming material added thereto, allowed to fill said weir body. CONSTITUTION:Water containing a suspended substance flowed from the upstream side of a river is altered to a flow state consisting of a turblent stream and a vertical stream by each weir body 1 provided so as to block a water channel and the porous ceramics particulate material C allowed to fill the weir body 1 and contacted with the ceramics particulate material C through the passing holes of the weir body 1 and purified by the biological assimilable action of activated sludge bacteria fixed to the ceramics particulate material C. The ceramics particulate material C is prepared by backing clay being a main component having sawdust added thereto and has a porous structure.</p> |
