PURPOSE: To determine the max. differential pressure under which the first liquid in a reservoir is sent to an immisible second liquid on a laboratory scale by connecting at test module to the outlet of the reservoir and liquid connecting the lumen of microporous hollow fibers to the second liquid in a vessel. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus is provided with the reservoir 22 which has an inlet 26 and an outlet 20 and contains the predetermined amt. of the first liquid and the vessel 42 which contains the predetermined amt. of the second liquid 40. A pressurizing fluid source 28 is connected to the inlet 26 to pressurized the first liquid. Further, the test module 12 delineates respectively the central lumen and has the many microporous hollow fibers 14 formed to a loop in such a manner that both end portions are adjacent to each other. This loop is immersed into the second liquid 40 put into the vessel 42. The test module 12 is connected to the outlet 20 of the reservoir 22 by a coupling 18 and the lumen of the microporous hollow fibers is liquid connected to the second liquid 40 of the vessel 42. Consequently, the max. differential pressure under which the first liquid is sent to the second liquid may be determined on the laboratory scale.
