PURPOSE:To remove slippage and to get rid of abrasion from the contact face between a stator and a rotor by decreasing the contact area between the stator and the rotor or the contact area of an abrasion-resistant member, and enlarging the contact area per unit area. CONSTITUTION:An abrasion-resistant member 4 is put between the stator 1 and the rotor 2 of an ultrasonic motor 3 consisting of said stator 1 and rotor 2. When the elliptic vibration of the stator is generated by applying AC voltage to the piezoelectric element (not shown in the figure) of the stator 1, the elliptic vibration is transmitted to the rotor 2 through the abrasion-resistant member 4, but since the contact area of the abrasion-resistant member 4 is small, even if the pressing to the rotor is the same, the contact pressure per unit area becomes large. Accordingly, the rotor 2 rotates without slipping, and also the abrasion of the stator 1 or the rotor 2 can be prevented by the abrasion-resistant member 4. |
