<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of the container by adding one or more kinds of inorganic or organic raw materials to the powder of a hydrogen storage material to reduce a pressure given to the inner wall of the container by the volume expansion of the alloy powder on the storage of the hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:The powder of a hydrogen storage material selected from La-Ni alloy, Ma-Ni alloy, Fe-Ti alloy, etc., is mixed with 3-30vol.% of one or more kinds selected from the powder of inorganic substances such as BN, SiC, Si3N4, etc., and the powder of organic substances such as fluororesin. The mixture powder is charged in a hydrogen-storing container such as a bottomed cylindrical container, at a prescribed charging rate, activated, and subsequently repeatedly subjected to the adsorption and release of the hydrogen. Since a pressure given to the inner wall of the container by the volume expansion of the hydrogen storage material powder on the adsorption and storage of the hydrogen is reduced, the container is not deformed or broken.</p> |
