The crankshaft is rotatably mounted in bearing shell in the crankcase, with the bearing shells located in apertures formed by bearing blocks and covers. The crankshaft carries connecting rods for a piston (7) reciprocating in cylinders (5). A piston injection nozzle is inserted in a retention bore, formed in one bearing block and coupled to the main oil bore. The retention bore opens in the cylinder. The piston is a cooling duct (17) type, and the duct inlet aperture is in the form of a catching funnel for the oil jet (12a.b) from the piston injection nozzle.
