The pump (10) comprises a rotor (16) with vanes (20) which are movable on the inner contour of the stroke ring. The stroke ring is located in the pump housing. The stroke ring has a symmetrical double contour and two diametrically opposite pump chambers (24,26). The pump chambers can be switched over between a parallel feed operation and an in-series feed operation by means of a switch (54). The switch is bistable and may be switched over from a specific position in the parallel feed operation to a specific position in the in-series feed operation.
