Double-sided adhesive foam plastic band used e.g. to attach rotary printing plates

This foam plastic band is used in the manufacture of double-sided adhesive products. These form a resilient carrier, between a holding surface and an object, such as: a decorative strip, nameplate or printing plate. The novel feature here, is thickness tolerance control, which is achieved by mechanically-stripping the upper surface of the plastic band. Preferably, the mechanical stripping process of the upper side (7) of the foam, is achieved by an emery shaping machine, a surface-grinder or a cropping-knife machine. This results in an adhesive-keying roughness. The top surface of the foam (2) has partially open structure.
