PURPOSE:To prevent a toner from receiving a chain effect by over rubbing by incorporating a carbon black grafted with polyester and a polyester resin into the toner. CONSTITUTION:At least the carbon black grafted with the polyester and the polyester resin are incorporated into the toner used for developing electrostatic images. While the method for grafting the polyester on the surface of the carbon black (CB) is not particularly limited, the method of grafting the carboxyl group of the CB surface as a base point is more preferable. Namely, this method makes alkaline treatment of the carboxyl group on the CB surface and executes the ring opening copolymn. of epoxide and acid anhydride with this part as a graft point. The flocculation energy of the molecular chains of the polyester is decreased in this way. |
