摘要

PURPOSE:To form an image record of high image quality even on a plain sheet by irradiating an ink-image carrier to be rotated with an ion flow corresponding to image information by an ion flow writing head while holding hot-melt ink in an ink tank to selectively charge the ink, and electrostatically transferring it onto a transfer medium. CONSTITUTION:Hot-melt ink 14 which exhibits a melted state by heating of a heater 17 is contained in an ink tank 16. An ink image carrying drum 10 rotates the ink in the tank 16 while holding it. Further, an ion flow write head 20 irradiates the ink held on the drum 10 with an ion flow corresponding to image information to selectively charge the ink. A transfer roll 30 electrostatically transfers one of the inks 14 charged and not charged by the head 20 from the ion flow writing position of the head 20 at the position opposed to the drum 10 at the downstream side of the drum 10 in the rotating direction of the drum 10 to a transfer medium 34.
