<p>A rubber composition capable of giving a vulcanized rubber which is reduced in rolling resistance, is excellent in resistance to wet skidding, wearing resistance, etc., and is useful especially as an automotive tire tread, etc. The rubber composition comprises: (1) particles of a crosslinked rubber comprising 40 to 79.99% repeating monomer units derived from a conjugated diene such as 1,3-butadiene, 20 to 50% repeating monomer units derived from an aromatic vinyl monomer such as styrene, and 3 0.01 to 10% repeating monomer units derived from a monomer having at least two polymerizable unsaturated groups, such as divinylbenzene; and (2) a conjugated diene/aromatic vinyl copolymer rubber in which the conjugated diene monomer units have a combined vinyl content of 10 to 30% and a 1,4-trans bond content higher than 55%, such as a styrene/butadiene copolymer rubber. The particulate crosslinked rubber may contain units of a monomer having one polymerizable unsaturated group and having a carboxy, hydroxyl, and/or epoxy group.</p> |
