PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite image generation device for acquiring an easy-to-view image by reducing any influence of a pickup image which is unsuitable for composition on a composite image even when any pickup image which is unsuitable for composition is input. SOLUTION: This composite image generation device 100 includes: a gain calculation part 106 for calculating a correction gain for including at least one of the brightness and tone of overlapped region images based on the pixel values of overlapped region images as the images of the overlapped regions in a plurality of adjacent pickup images; and an abnormality decision part 105 for deciding whether or not the overlapped region images are abnormal images based on the pixel values of the overlapped region images. The abnormality decision part 105 decides whether or not the overlapped region images are abnormal images based on the rate of the number of abnormal pixels having pixel values out of a prescribed normal range to the number of pixels of the overlapped region images, and the gain calculation part 106 calculates the correction gain without using any overlapped region images decided as the abnormal images.
