The invention relates to an airborne device for detecting shots and for piloting assistance for an aircraft including a multi-sensor system supplying signals that represent an environment of the aircraft, including at least one system supplying a signal, referred to as LWIR/MWIR signal, representing infrared radiation in the far infrared or medium infrared domains; means for piloting assistance (62) making it possible to obtain a first set of piloting information including information representing obstacles located in the environment of the aircraft; and means for detecting shots (63) making it possible to obtain a second set of piloting information including information representing shots in the vicinity of the aircraft, the means for piloting assistance and the means for detecting shots using signals representing an environment of the aircraft including at least the LWIR/MWIR signal; and means (64) for obtaining parameters for piloting assistance from first and second sets of piloting information.
