<p>A one-piece housing casting for use in a turbine engine comprises a hub 32 adapted to receive a turbine shaft 18 therethrough and a radially extending flange 34 on the outer periphery of the hub. The flange 34 includes a radially aligned annular surface portion 48 and means for spacing the surface 48 a predetermined distance from a radially aligned housing wall 22 close to the outlet of the centrifugal compressor. The flange 34 also includes an axially extended portion 50 having an axially extended surface 52 and means for spacing the surface away from an axially extending surface 24 on a turbine housing wall 15 to define a passage therebetween. Preferably, the means for spacing the wall surfaces 48, 52 apart from the turbine housing wall surfaces 22, 24 comprise diffuser vanes 60, 24 integrally formed on the radially and axially aligned surfaces 48, 52 of the flange 34 of the casting. <IMAGE></p> |
