PURPOSE:To simply reproduce an optical image with the device of light weight by providing a beam generator applying main scanning read to an image recorded as an electrostatic pattern on different positions on a photosensitive body and a drive means applying subscanning to the photosensitive body with respect to the beam generator. CONSTITUTION:A picture storage body 4 is extended in a holding package 102 of a camera 100 while being wound on winding shafts 41, 42 and rotor magnets 501, 502 are provided to one end of the winding shafts 41, 42. The beam scanning section 21 of a picture read section 2 deflects an electron beam 5 emitted from an electron gun 23 in the main scanning direction, moves the picture storage medium 4 in the subscanning direction (arrow 60) by energizing coils 501, 502 and the prescribed screen of the storage medium 4 is scanned by using an electron beam. The secondary electrons emitted from the storage medium 4 is detected by a slit electrode 200 and a picture signal is outputted to a recording and reproducing device 204 via connectors 3, 202 and a cable 203.
