The method involves monitoring the rpm of the engine as representative of the operating state of the engine. The desired value of rpm is compared with the actual value during driving. If the actual value exceeds the desired value, a control process is automatically activated, which is automatically stopped when the actual value sinks below the desired value, to prevent an uncontrolled rpm increase caused by an excessive fuel supply. An Independent claim is included for a diesel engine with closed crankcase ventilation for vehicles. |
