PURPOSE: An organic EL is provided to enhance luminous efficiency, luminous color and stability of the element by using a quinacridone compound as luminous material. CONSTITUTION: An organic EL comprises an insulating supporter(101), first electrode(103) and second electrode(107) on the insulating supporter, and an organic EL medium(105) between the electrodes(103,107). The organic EL medium(105) consists of three layers(109,111,113) stacked one over another. A hole injection layer(109) is formed on the first electrode(103), and a hole carrier layer(111) is formed over the hole injection layer(109). The intermediate layer(113) is placed between the hole injection layer(109) and the hole carrier layer(111) for injecting and carrying electrons. The first and second electrodes(103,107) are connected to an external energy source respectively. |
