PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cascade polymer complex recognizing angiopathy and useful for an diagnostic, etc., by providing a sufficiently small size for being discharged as bodily wastes and a sufficient load of paramagnetic atoms chelated with a ligand for attaining an NMR blood pool imaging. SOLUTION: This cascade polymer complex has a sufficiently large size to be retained in blood vessels for a sufficient time to provide imaging in recording an NMR image, has a sufficiently small size for physiologically permissible excretion and has a sufficient load of paramagnetic atoms chelated with a macrocyclic complex-forming ligand for attaining an NMR blood pool imaging. The cascade polymer complex is expressed e.g. by formula I [wherein A is a nitrogen-containing cascade nucleus having a basic multiplicity (b); S is a reproduction unit; and Z1 and Z2 are each a group of formula II in the first generation to generation next to the last, and Z1 is H, carboxy or the like and Z2 is a complex product or the like in the last generation]. An NMR contrast medium is preferably prepared by including the cascade polymer complex. |
