oil pollution removal. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to materials for removal of crude oil and petroleum products spilt on the water and dry land surfaces. Such materials are preferred in cleaning and removal oil liquids when employment of heavy equipment or involvement of the latter for posttreatment of surfaces is not effective. Materials can also be used as preventive means at potentially dangerous objects (petroleum storage depots, motor car enterprises, air and see transport enterprises, long- distance pipelines, and at any other enterprises with oil-linked activities). Material includes two external fibrous layers containing polypropylene fibers and separated from each other by an, attached to them, intermediate fibrous layer containing polypropylene or polyester(ether) fibers. Fibers of external and intermediate fibrous layers are thermally fastened together. Each of layers further contains bicomponent polyester(ether) fibers, content of the latter in each of the external layers being higher than that in the intermediate layer. One more application area for proposed materials is their use as charges in filter plants serving for treatment of surface and waste waters. EFFECT: improved following characteristics: sorption capacity, filtration, floatability, squeeze easiness, and desorption of gathered petroleum product enabling multiple reuse of material. 4 cl, 2 dwg, 4 ex
