PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To get rid of a latch-up state without burdening an imaging part when a latch-up occurs in the imaging part.

SOLUTION: An imaging unit comprises: an imaging part 11 for reading biological information of a living body in contact; an imaging unit control part 12 for controlling the imaging part; an abnormality detection part 14 for detecting occurrence of abnormality or electric discharge when the electric discharge is caused by contact of the living body and the abnormality occurs in power supply voltage or power supply current of the imaging part; and a power supply control part 15 for shutting off power supply to the imaging part after shutting off an input from the imaging unit control part to the imaging part, when the abnormality is detected by the abnormality detection part.
