<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a productive image forming apparatus suppressing deterioration in developer accompanying a temperature rise. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms an image composing of a fixed toner image on a recording medium by forming the toner image by developing an electrostatic latent image with toner and then transferring and fixing the toner image on and to the recording medium. The image forming apparatus above is provided with; a plurality of developing parts containing the toner and forming the toner image by developing the electrostatic latent image with the toner in the developer and which can be moved between a developing position for carrying out developing and a non-developing position which is separated from the developing position, a temperature detecting part either directly or indirectly detecting the temperature of the developer provided to the developing part positioned in the developing position, and a moving part moving the developing part positioned in the developing position to the non-developing position when the detected result in the temperature detecting part indicates a specified high temperature state as well as moving at least one of the developing machines positioned in the non-developing position to the developing position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
