Abstract A temperature sensor (20) is provided in a laundry dryer, by means of which the environmental tem 5 perature can be measured. The environmental temperature can, e.g., be used to better control the cooling of a heat pump (2, 3, 5, 6) of the device, to more accurately estimate the process duration, to more reliably determine a degree of contamination of the fluff filter (12), or to 10 determine various parameters of the drying process.
