PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict condensed water from being generated out of suction air heat exchanged with the cooling water when air bubbles generated at inner passage of cooling water formed at a water-cooled type inter-cooler are removed.SOLUTION: In this preferred embodiment, a flow rate of cooling water fed from a pump 22 is controlled [a discharged gas temperature control] in such a way that an intake temperature at an outlet side of an inter-cooler 18 may exceed a dew point temperature. In addition, when occurrence of air bubbles at an inner passage of the inter-cooler 18 is detected, a flow rate of cooling water fed from the pump 22 is controlled [air bubble purge control] in such a way that a minimum requisite amount of cooling water for keeping a cooling water temperature Twout at the outlet of the inner passage of the inter-cooler 18 less than a boiling temperature may be fed under a prescribed condition not influencing over the discharged gas temperature control. The prescribed condition defined herein is a condition accomplished when an operation range of an internal combustion engine 10 is kept in an EGR cut region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
