A veterinary antipyretic composition for treating intensively reared animals for human consumption comprises a stabilized, concentrated non-aqueous solution (A) of 5-25 (preferably ca.20) wt.% paracetamol (I) in solvent comprising low molecular weight polyethylene glycol (preferably PEG-200) and/or polypropylene glycol. (A) is added to animal feed or especially drinking water; or sprayed on a granular feed. Independent claims are included for: (1) the use of (A) for preparing a veterinary antipyretic composition as above; (2) two methods of supplying (A) to drinking water for animals, basically involving automatically controlled supply of specific amounts of (A) to a water tank or pipe, the amounts being based on growth tables and the average water requirement of the animals; and (3) a method of applying (A) to granular animal feed, basically involving spraying (A) from nozzles onto feed flowing under shear force in a bunker, using a supply device such as a truck or conveyor belt.
