The system uses radio, ultrasonic or infrared signals, not transmitted by wire, to move an actuating flap into the desired positions. There can be a receiver near the actuating rams etc., consuming virtually no current, and a multi-channel system can be used, allowing different commands to be recognised and carried out. The emitter can be powered by a storage battery and in a stationary or mobile mounting, or can be supplied from a hand-operated generator. The receiver and/or actuating servomotor can be powered by solar battery.
