Human hair is dyed in several steps by (i) applying a phenol deriv.-based hair-dye, (I), esp. p-aminophenol, m-aminophenol and/or resorcinol, admixed with H2O2 shortly before use; (ii) opt. after-treating with a phenol deriv.-based agent, (II), and (iii) oxidising in 1 or 2 steps with a peroxydisulphate and/or a bromate. In (i), concn. of (I) is pref. 0.1-15 (0.5-10) wt.% w.r.t. gel or emulsion used. (I) is left to act 20 min. on hair, whereby white hair is converted to a pale-yellow colour. In (ii), the dried hair is opt. treated 5 min. at pH 9.5-10.5 with a gel contg. (II), e.g. pyrocatechol or resorcihol. In (iii) the dried hair is treated (a) 5 min. at pH 9.5-10.5 with a 0.1-10 (0.5-5) wt.% concn. soln. of NH4- or Na peroxydisulphate, to achieve a blonde- to brown-red shade, and opt. (b) 5 min. with a 0.1-10 (0.5-5) wt.% NaBrO3 soln. to displace hair shade towards an olive tint. Fast, natural, or reddish blond to brown shades are obtd. without using aromatic p-diamines, which may cause allergies and mutations.
|
