PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress frequent stopping of a spill valve in a high pressure fuel pump in an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: When a fuel injection amount Q is smaller than a judgement value Q0 ('NO' in S220), a feed-forward factor for small amount injection Kmin is set (S260). Since the factor Kmin is greater than a feed-forward factor for normal injection Korg that is set (S240) when Q>=Q0 is satisfied ('YES' in S220), a large value is set as a feed-forward term FF calculated in step S270. Therefore, even when the FF is added with a feed-back term (DTp+DTi) (S320), 0 is hardly set as a control duty DT, and an electromagnetic spill valve is closed almost periodically, eliminating the frequent stopping of operating noise generated when the electromagnetic spill valve closes. Consequently, irregular generation of the operating noise is suppressed eliminating the possibilities of making a driver uncomfortable. |
