PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition producible without necessitating the addition of an enzyme stabilizer nor necessitating particular consideration in compounding operation and exhibiting excellent preventive effect against tooth caries, by immobilizing glucanase, etc., to hydroxyapatite and using the product as an active component. CONSTITUTION:Hydroxyapatite immobilized with glucanase, etc., is used as an active component. The immobilization of glucanase to hydroxyapatite can be carried out by (1) adding (A) hydroxyapatite powder useful as an abrasive of dentifrice to a solution containing (B) levanase or mutanase which is an enzyme glucanase effective in preventing tooth caries and (C) a protein such as lysozyme, cytochrome C, albumin, casein, etc., harmless to human body and easily adsorbable to hydroxyapatite and (2) dripping glutaraldehyde to the mixture under vigorous agitation. The produced hydroxyapatite powder is used as an abrasive of dentifrice. |
