A binder composition useful for agglomerating an ore in the presence of water, that contains about 10% to about 90% of a water-soluble cellulose derivative and about 5% to about 90% of sodium tripolyphosphate or tetrasodium pyrophosphate, and a process for agglomerating an ore comprising mixing said binder composition, water, and the ore, agglomerating the mixture into wet balls, drying the wet balls, and heating the resultant dry balls at a temperature of at least about 1204 DEG C, are disclosed. |
