PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer record medium capable of printing on rough papers without scumming by adding ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, wax material, resin, and colorant by a specified quantity respectively into a heat melting ink layer, and specifying softening point of vehicle. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer record medium, a heat melting ink layer is provided on a substrate. In this case, 50-80wt.% of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with a content of 19wt.% or less of vinyl acetate, 0-20wt.% of wax material with a melting point of 70-90 deg.C, 0-20wt.% of resin with a glass transition point of 50-140 deg.C (where either the wax material or the resin should be added without fail), and 20-50wt.% of colorant are added into the ink layer. In the ink layer, a softening point of vehicle is set to 60-85 deg.C, a melting viscosity at 100 deg.C is set to 1000 poise or above, and a melting viscosity at 160 deg.C is set to 400 poise or below. Thus, fixing property and bridging transfer property of ink dots X and Y for a rough paper Z are improved. |
