GATE APPARATUS FOR ULTRASONIC FLAW DETECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate apparatus for ultrasonic flaw detection preventing the effect of a shape echo to separate a flaw echo from the shape echo to discriminate the same and obtaining accurate data. SOLUTION: A gate apparatus 21 consists of a flaw echo detection gate circuit 22a setting a flaw echo detection gate, a shape echo detection gate circuit 22b setting a shape echo detection gate, a beam path calculation circuit 25 of a shape echo and a gate control circuit 23. The position of the shape echo detection gate where the shape echo is detected is renewed on the basis of the change of the beam path of the shape echo calculated by the beam path calculation circuit 25 by the gate control circuit 23 and the flaw echo detection gate is set to a range to be inspected excepting the position of the shape echo detection gate so as to follow the position of the renewed shape acho detection age.
