FOOT ORTHOSIS

A premould foot orthosis (10) has an upper surface (12) for contact with the foot of a person, a rearfoot or heel portion (14) and a supportive arch portion (16). The orthosis (10) has a heel cup (20) which is adapted to receive and locate the heel of the foot in order to minimise the movement of the foot from said orthosis (10), and a rearfoot skive (18) adapted to impart a supinatory force to the heel to resist rearfoot pronatory forces. The heel cup (20) may be a deep heel cup having a central portion surrounded at least in part by a wall of sufficient height to enable heel movement to be resisted.
