PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map data display device which can be used also for a portable information terminal for allowing a user to recognize the azimuth of the destination of the user, only by viewing map data displayed at a display part. SOLUTION: A direction detecting part 4 outputs an azimuth signal 11 including a displacing angleθto an azimuth converting part 3. Also, the azimuth converting part 3 transforms the coordinates of map data 10 inputted from a map data recording part 2 by the azimuth signal 11, and outputs converted map data 13 to a display part 5. Thus, even when the direction of the display part 5 is changed, the direction of the converted map data 13 displayed at the display part 5 is shown so that the upper side can always indicate the north side, and the user can recognize the azimuth of the destination at a glance. |
