PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce size (thickness), simplify construction, improve insulating performance and heat radiation performance and facilitate assembly for a DC-DC converter. SOLUTION: A DC-DC converter 1 has a box-type metal casing 2 and a circuit board 3, which is housed in the casing 2 and on which a plurality of elements (circuit components) 4, which a DC-DC converter circuit comprises are mounted thereon. The casing 2 comprises an insulating layer 21 of which its surface layer part consists and an inner part 22 made of a metal. Aluminum or aluminum alloy is recommended as the metallic material for the casing 2. It is also recommended to make the insulating layer 21 of hard anodic aluminum.
