PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve read-out speed by providing a defect block and an alternation block storing data to be stored substitutionally in a defect block in a data region. SOLUTION: A user can access data regions 201-20n, and can record desired data by utilizing an optical disk drive. The data regions 201-2n have an alternation block 24 and a defect block, when recording is performed continuously for an optical disk 100, the alternation block 24 is arranged at a position after the defect block 22 corresponding in a recording direction. As the alternation block 24 is arranged at the position directly after the defect block 22, the optical disk 100 can read out data for a short time. An optical disk drive system reads out a recorded part after recording, performs compare-check with original data, confirms existence of a defect block 22, and rerecords data in a substitution block when data errors of some numbers or more are found.
