<p>A lighting apparatus comprises an elongate housing (10) of closed cross-section having a transparent front face (12) and one or more electric light sources (14, 16) arranged within the housing. End caps (18, 20) are sealingly secured to opposite ends of housing. A handle (180) is integrally formed with one of the moulded and caps (18) and electrical connecting sockets (24, 26) are integrally formed with the other moulded and cap (20). The rear wall (32) of the housing (10) has an elongate recess or keyway (34) of constant profile which receives an elarged head (196) of a support arm (22). The enlarged head is profiled such that it is adjustable between a first position inwhich it frictionally engages the recess (34) to prevent movement along the recess and a second condition in which it is frictionally disengaged from the recess (34) which allows it to be slid along the recess. The head (196) is also pivotable within the recess to allow the support arm (22) to assume different supporting positions.</p> |
