摘要 An active matrix type bi-stable display device is provided to reduce a cost of the active matrix type bi-stable display device by reducing the number of signal-line drivers. A signal-line driver is connected with a plurality of terminals by dividing a plurality of signal lines sequentially in the plural, divides an image corresponding to the plurality of signal lines in the plural sequentially, and sequentially supplies a plurality of image signals sequentially to the plurality of terminals into a time-division type. A scan-signal driver(2) divides a plurality of scan lines into a plurality of scan-line groups by sequentially grouping them into the plural. The scan-line driver performs a series of following operations as one set: sequentially driving the plurality of scan-line groups in a first frame period to drive a first scan line constituting each scan-line group, sequentially driving the plurality of scan line groups in a second frame duration to drive a second scan line constituting each scan-line group and sequentially driving the plurality of scan-line groups in an X-frame period to drive an X scan line constituting each scan-line group. In response to an operation of each scan line, a switching device connected between a corresponding signal line and a pixel electrode is activated to supply an image signal from the signal line to the pixel electrode. When bi-stable display for each pixel in the display panel is recorded with a row, the one set of operations of the scan-line driver is repeated. According to the operation of he scan-line driver, conversion of the image signal is performed on the signal driver.
