<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump which restrains friction between a plunger and an inner wall of a cylinder, while restraining the problem by fuel leakage from a pump room. <P>SOLUTION: A base end part of the plunger 31 slidably supported by the cylinder 38, projects from one end of the cylinder 38, and a tip part of the plunger 31 is exposed to the pump room 32 formed on the other end side of the cylinder 38. A suction stroke of sucking fuel in the pump room 32 and a pressurizing stroke of pressurizing fluid in the pump room 32, are performed by changing a position of the tip part of the plunger 31, by changing a lift quantity of the plunger 31 by rotation of a cam 9 supporting the base end part of the plunger 31. An annular storage recessed part 60 is formed on the inner wall of an intermediate part of the cylinder 38. A seal member 40 is stored in the storage recessed part 60 for regulating leaking-out of the fuel in the pump room 32 to the base end side of the plunger 31 from a clearance between the inner wall of the cylinder 38 and the plunger 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
