A biometric guidance control method of a biometric authentication system and a biometric authentication system are provided to improve an authentication speed and increase the comparison efficiency even though an image of the user's body is captured through a non-contact method. A biometric authentication system includes an image-capturing unit(1), a memory unit(4a), a display unit and a processing unit. The image-capturing unit captures an image of the body of a user. The memory unit stores biometric characteristic data of the user and biometric image-capturing state data. The display unit displays a guidance picture for capturing an image of the body of the user to the user. The processing unit extracts the biometric image-capturing state data and the biometric characteristic data from the image captured by the image-capturing unit and registers the data in the memory unit.
