A wiper strip carrier 10 comprises an elongate member which is substantially U-shaped to be open facing away from the vehicle pane and wherein the height 38, width 36 and/or material thickness 40 of the member varies in the longitudinal direction 56 of the member. The base 32 of the U-shape can be provided with a slot 28 with an enlarged insertion opening 30 through which in use, a wiper strip 12 can be inserted so that it engages with portions of the base 32. The base 32 is preferably formed along the member with longitudinal folds (fig 2) with the spaces (52, fig 2) between the folds diverging towards the ends of the member. The strip may also be glued to the strip carrier or moulded onto its base. |
