PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydrating apparatus capable of improving a dehydrating rate and enabling dehydrating laundry with reduced uneven dehydration. SOLUTION: This compression type dehydrating apparatus for compressing washed laundry 60 loaded in a bottomless basket 42 by a flexible pressure body 53 having liquid sealed therein and vertically moving, and dehydrating the laundry, is disposed with a mesh sheet 70 which has a water passing property in a plane direction, a strength of such an extent as preventing the crushing of a space, or a water passing part, and flexibility of following the deformation of the pressure body, continuously extending from the pressurizing face of the pressure body 53 via a place between the pressure body and the basket 42, to a press disk 52 assembled on the pressure body 53.
