<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem that use efficiency of a catalyst is low since catalyst powder is not sufficiently coated with ionomer in a conventional method for manufacturing a catalyst layer of a fuel cell electrode wherein the ionomer is applied on the layer surface after a mixture of the catalyst powder and a fluoride resin are formed in a layer shape and are heat-treated and the layer is dried up. <P>SOLUTION: Upon manufacturing the catalyst layer, the catalyst layer is manufactured by a first process for heat-treating the mixture of the catalyst powder and fluoride resin, a second process for crushing the acquired calcined object, and a third process for film-making and drying up after mixing the crushed calcined powder and ionomer solution. The use efficiency of a catalyst is improved on the basis of this manufacturing method since the catalyst powder is sufficiently coated with the ionomer, and the manufacturing method can contribute to the improved performance of a fuel cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
